Ever been to Rwanda? If not, you will feel like you there experiencing the hard work these farmers have put into ensuring the quality of their most valuable asset. Like our Zambia Natural, this single origin stands out for its bright taste and medium body mouthfeel. It is a unique and fun-tasting experience that will inspire you to see this African country's beauty.
This is a Red Bourbon coffee from Buf Cafe's Umurage washing station in the Huye District of the Kigoma sector in the south of Rwanda, sitting at 1,750 masl. Umurage is Buf Cafés third washing station. Founded in 2003 by Epiphanie Mukashyaka, Buf Café seeks to grow the specialty Rwandan coffee sector with a focus on quality.
Why did we choose to offer this coffee?
It is estimated that Umurage has 412 registered coffee farmers. Buf Cafe provides many jobs for the community and trains farmers in good agricultural practices to improve quality with a focus on sustainability.
We love buying from suppliers and producers working to lift the community. Boon!
Did you know that the country of Rwanda is the western neighbor of our friends in Uganda?
